The NAACP chapter hosted its most recent Community Conversation on August 1st, 2024 at the Grace City Church in Rock Island. 

 

The community conversations are a way for the Rock Island-Milan community to meet RIMSD board members, and learn more about the district and education in general. 

 

The guest speaker was RIMSD #41 Board of Education member Nicole Cisne Durbin. 

 

Those in attendance were very engaged and during the meeting, various topics were discussed. Some included, students reading and math scores, school building infrastructure, school district revenue, school safety, and more.

Community Conversations take place from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at different locations. Locations for upcoming meetings are still to be determined.
