The 2018-2019 school year calendar that was approved by the Board of Education in January of 2018 had built in a plan to make up of Snow/Emergency days during the second week of Spring Intersession Break. 

 

This winter, the Rock Island-Milan School District has logged 5 Emergency Days thus far this year and canceled school due to snow and extreme weather conditions: November 26, January 23, 25, 30 & 31. 

 

Therefore, staff will return to school on Monday, March 18 for the district-wide In-service day and students will report back to the classroom on Tuesday, March 19. 

 

A letter will go home to households explaining the change in calendar over Spring Intersession Break. Families will also be reminded through the robocall system in March. 

 

The last day of the 2018-2019 school year is Friday, May 31.
