It is important to us that our students develop as leaders as well! In addition to the academic support we provide, students also learn AVID strategies to help them become strong leaders. We are the only AVID elementary in the Rock Island-Milan School District. Our students use AVID binders to learn how to best stay organized but we use them as a tool to help facilitate communication between home and school. “AVID Elementary is a foundational component of the AVID College Readiness System, and supports AVID’s mission to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.” You can learn more about AVID at their site AVID Elementary.
