RIMSD FAQ's

  1. What measures has RIMSD #41 put into practice to prevent the spread of COVID 19?
RIMSD #41 is taking every precaution. At the beginning of the school year, RIMSD #41 purchased two Clorox 360 system Electrostatic Sprayers for the school buildings. The Electrostatic Sprayers provide enhanced surface coverage for disinfectants that is superior to spray bottle coverage. The Electrostatic Sprayers have been used in the buildings throughout the course of this school year to keep down the spread of germs. The buildings are being sprayed and cleaned once again over Spring Intersession Break.
All school buildings will have additional cleaning and disinfectant supplies for staff to use to keep up the preventative maintenance. School nurses will also be available to train/remind staff about proper hand washing techniques and practicing safe hygiene as covering coughs and sneezes.
  2. Will the assessment/testing schedule change?
The U.S. Department of Education has communicated that it will make waivers available for assessments and accountability. ISBE will work in partnership with stakeholders to determine next steps for Illinois. The State Board of Education is also working directly with the College Board to obtain extensions for ACT, SAT, PSAT, AP, and Dual Credit testing.
  3. What about my child's scheduled IEP or 504 plan?
For any scheduled IEP or 504 plan meetings, parents will be contacted on how and/or where those meetings will occur.
