This team created an awesome Veterans Day Assembly. It is always a moving experience to invite and honor our veterans. A lot of planning and preparation goes into such a heartfelt presentation and educational experience for our students and the community.

SHOUT: Mr. Burrage is pleasant and positive all the time. He goes above and beyond to help students all the time. The students always comment that he is their favorite teacher because his class is not just PE, it is fun and he uses technology to keep students engaged.

SHOUT: Tim is an amazing custodian. There is absolutely no job that you could ask of him to do that he wouldn't do for ANY of the staff at HMELC. Tim also goes above and beyond in an already demanding job. Ex: Today it's 90 degrees and he is shoveling mulch for our garden area in between his daily duties. He still takes the time to look up and greet students, parents, and staff as he works. Thanks Tim for all you do!

SHOUT: The flexible seating throughout every school was abundant and visible! Each and every classroom was more welcoming and comfortable for students compared to traditional seating. Students loved the seating options!

SHOUT: The beginning of the school year is a busy time, and yet Lakisha Randle showed genuine kindness, care of our individual needs, and a "rocking" positive attitude as many of us from Head Start have come to the Administration Center to request new badges. Lakisha's amazing smile and kindness are a gift to all! She is another example of why kindness matters and how it shapes the culture of our district! #Lakisharocks

SHOUT: Brigette Hajduk continues to be an amazing education manager for the Head Start program! She always has a listening ear for the children's needs and acts on ways those needs can be met. Early childhood education continues to evolve, and Brigette inspires the Head Start staff to teach with heart and professionalism, to use open minds for the needs and perspectives of the changing world children are growing up in, and to recognize that all individuals deserve respect. Brigette rocks in the Rock Island District Head Start program. She makes a difference!
