School Board Election 2019

Are you interested in serving on the Rock Island-Milan School District #41 Board of Education? 
 
There are three four-year term positions opening up. The following board members have expiring terms in 2019: Linda Dothard, Kevin Nolan and Tiffany Stoner-Harris.
 
Board members receive no compensation for their service. 
 
Election is Tuesday, April 2, 2019. 
 
Filing Dates: Interested school board member candidates must visit the Rock Island County Clerks office (1504 Third Avenue, Rock Island) beginning on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 to pick up a packet. You may begin collecting signatures at that time. You must collect a minimum of 50 signatures. Petitions must be signed by at least 50 qualified voters or 10% of the voters, whichever is less, residing within the district.
Where to File:  Petitions must be returned to the Rock Island County Clerk's office (1504 Third Avenue, Rock Island) the week of December 10-17. 
Qualifications:  Qualified elector/registered voter and shall not be a child sex offender as defined in Section 11-9.3 of the Criminal Code of 2012 (105 ILCS 5/10-10).
Residency: Any person who, on the date of the election, is a U.S. citizen of the age of 18 or over and a resident of the State of Illinois and the territory encompassing the district for one year preceding the election is eligible. A member cannot serve as a school trustee (105 ILCS 5/10-10).
Withdrawal Deadline: Thursday, January 24, 2019. 
Statement of Candidacy: Filed with the nominating petitions.
Loyalty Oath: Filed with the nominating petition.
Statement of Economic Interest: Filed with the Rock Island County Clerk's Office.
Campaign Disclosure: Reports must be filed either on paper or electronically with the State Board of Elections, 2329 S. MacArthur Blvd, Springfield, IL 62704 or 100 West Randolph Street, Suite 14-100, Chicago, IL 60601.
