Mr. Mario Sherrell was appointed Interim Principal of Thurgood Marshall Learning Center at the January 27, 2026, Board of Education meeting.
Mr. Sherrell brings 14 years of educational leadership experience, having served as a Superintendent, Executive Director, Principal, and Assistant Principal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership, and has successfully led in alternative education settings with advanced training in trauma-informed practices.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sherrell has demonstrated a strong ability to stabilize systems, strengthen school culture, and improve scholar outcomes. Known for his collaborative, transparent, and visionary leadership, Mr. Sherrell is highly regarded for engaging stakeholders, supporting educator growth, and meeting the diverse needs of scholars. He is widely viewed as a valuable asset to any school community.
