Ridgewood Elementary School

Welcome to Ridgewood Elementary! Nestled in Southwest Rock Island or referred to as Rock-Milan, Ridgewood is truly a one-of-a-kind place and serves students from Rock Island and Milan. The school, built in 1971, recently celebrated its 50th Birthday!
 
What makes Ridgewood the best in Rock Island is the entire school community. Traditions such as Fall Frolic, Monster Mash, Holiday Program, and Lunch on the Lawn are just a few of the traditions where family and staff come together. Families are invited and encouraged to serve on the Building Leadership Team (BLT) and Parent Teacher Group (PTG). 
 
While working together, Ridgewood takes pride in strengthening our core values with our stakeholders:

Jadiem (J.D.) Wilson

Principal, Ridgewood Elementary School, Rock Island, IL

Jadiem (J.D.) Wilson is in his 16th year with the district. He began in the district in 2009, teaching science at Washington Junior High School for two years, then science and technology at Edison Jr. High School for two years. In 2013, Mr. Wilson stepped into his first administrative role as dean of students at Rock Island High School. He would later assume two more administrative roles as assistant principal at Rock Island Academy and his current role as principal at Ridgewood Elementary School.  

Mr. Wilson is passionate about helping people become the best versions of themselves. He believes there is greatness in everyone that can be unlocked through a solid education and supportive relationships. 

Mr. Wilson resides in Davenport, Iowa, with his wife, their four children, and two dogs. Mr. Wilson trains athletes and is a local realtor. He enjoys learning new skills, exercising, and traveling.
