On August 8, 2025, three new benches were placed on the playground of Rock Island Academy. These benches were donated for the purpose of creating accessible reading and learning spaces for our brilliant scholars, their families, and the staff that supports them.

A special thanks to United Way and the Quad City Federation of Labor for coordinating the efforts that went into this wonderful project. We are eternally grateful for the hard work and dedication of members of Iron Workers 111, Laborers Local 309, United Steelworkers Local 105, and Pleasant Valley Redi-Mix for donating their time and talents.

Thank you to the Rock Island-Milan community for your continued support ❤️💛
