Congratulations to Braden Gilliland on graduating in the top ten of the class! Braden’s alma maters are Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and Edison Jr. High School. Braden plans to attend Augustana College and is exploring potential fields of study.

Congratulations to Claire O’Hern-Maidak on graduating in the top ten of the class! Claire’s alma maters are Eugene Field Elementary School and Washington Jr. High School. This fall, Claire will attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she plans to major in Elementary Education with a minor in ESL.

Congratulations to the Rock Island High School Class of 2026’s 22 CNA graduates! Last week, the program celebrated these outstanding scholars with a pinning ceremony, where they proudly took their oath and were recognized for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving others through healthcare. This week, they will take another exciting step forward as they walk the stage at the Black Hawk College graduation ceremony.
Earning a CNA certification is an incredible accomplishment that reflects perseverance, professionalism, and compassion. We are proud of these scholars for pursuing careers that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and for representing the best of what our programs have to offer.

Reminder: Join us this evening for the 4th Annual Rock Island High School Culture Fest from 5:00–7:30 p.m. as we celebrate the diversity that makes our school and community so special!
Congratulations to the four welding scholars - Nolan Fonteyne, Eric Biswell, Kaiden Swanson, and Austin Schwab - and the four CNA scholars - Honesty Vesey, Easter Naing, Iphe Carr, and Jamarrie Lee - at Rock Island High School, who earned their College and Career Pathway Endorsement (CCPE) certificates!
To earn a CCPE, scholars must complete an approved two-year sequence of courses, including a minimum of six early college credit hours. Throughout the program, scholars participate in at least two career exploration activities, two team-based challenges, and complete a minimum of 60 hours in a workplace career development experience.
This is an outstanding accomplishment, and we celebrate these scholars for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their future careers!
