Attention families- on September 28th from 5:30-6:30pm Mark Salisbury will be giving a presentation in the cafeteria or Lower Island called 'The #1 Determinant of a Successful College Choice: Financial Fit'.

College success isn't realized until our students thrive as independent college graduates. That means that, not only do they have to learn a lot, grow a lot, and graduate from college, they must graduate with the financial freedom necessary to pursue whoever they have become. This presentation refocuses the college planning process on the real outcome we all want for our students and lays out how we can ensure that our students accomplish this goal in their college search.

If your child is thinking that college is in their future and you want to learn more about finding a college that is a good financial fit for them, please join us for this presentation!

Another opportunity that is happening that same evening from 5:30-7:30 and Friday, September 29th from 8-10am in the RIHS library. Maddie Schaefer from ISAC will be available during that time to assist families in setting up their FAFSA ID. The FAFSA ID is your username and password combination to log into the US Dept. of Education, and it also serves as your online signature when filing the FAFSA annually. To create your FAFSA ID, you will need your social security number, email address or cell phone number, full legal name, and date of birth. For students planning on going to college for the 2024-2025 school year, they must complete the FAFSA (which opens in December), and the first step to prepare for that is to create your FAFSA ID, so please join us to complete this step of the process.

Both of these events are during Parent/Teacher conferences, so before or after either of these events consider meeting with your child's teachers to talk about your child's progress this quarter.

We hope to see you there!
