Program Goals

Rock Island Milan School District Program Goals
 
Priority 1. Engage all stakeholders in building respectful relationships

Districts:
•     We will provide consistent and ongoing communication
•     We will foster a positive climate of mutual trust and respect among faculty,  staff, administrators, families, students, and community
•     We will promote a culture of respect, understanding, and acceptance through continued district work in Cultural Competence

    EL Program’s:
•    We will enhance the work of the Bilingual Parent Advisory Council (BPAC) with intentionality and purpose, which will include quarterly activities at the district & building level, involving various stakeholders. (I. Living a Mission and Vision Focused on Results)
 
Priority 2. Improve academic outcomes and close the achievement gaps through ensuring equity and opportunities for all students
    
Districts:
•     We will provide access to interventions, support, and enrichment for all students.
•     We will provide equitable opportunities to prepare students for academic growth to meet and exceed grade-level expectations
•     We will improve the graduation rate

EL Program’s:
•     We will finalize program goals and create an action plan to guide the decision-making process, which will include the development, implementation, and monitoring of program outcomes. (II. Leading and Managing Systems Change)

Priority 3. Enhance and improve Operations
    
Districts:
•    Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse staff
•    Every building in the district has a safe, modern, welcoming physical environment
•    Ensure financial integrity to be sure our financial resources work for us to meet our priorities

    EL Program’s:
•    We will improve the operations through the use of the program data collection tool, ELLevations, by focusing on utilization of data reports and quarterly strategies to support the instructional practices within and outside of the EL program. (VI. Creating and Sustaining a Culture of High Expectation)
