RIMSD#41 is proud to welcome new team members and also congratulate current staff in new leadership roles. At the Board of Education's June 13 meeting, the board approved the hiring of the following positions:

Rock Island Center for Math & Science

Krista Lonian will be the Assistant Principal at the Rock Island Center for Math & Science. The position is brand new to the school. Krista has been in the district for six years, serving four years as a teacher at Thomas Jefferson and last year serving as a Student Assistant Manager at RICMS.

Rock Island High School

Katie Hartzler is a familiar face at Rock Island High School. Serving the last 9 years as a Dean at Rocky she will now be one of the Assistant Principals at the high school. Katie has also served as the Freshman Academic Advisory at Rock Island High School and a science teacher at Washington Jr. High School.

Donald "Cj" Smith will replace Katie as a dean at Rock Island High School. Donald is an alumnus of the Rock Island-Milan School District. He has worked as a social studies teacher at Edison Junior High School for two, a Student Assistant Manager at Rock Island Center for Math & Science, the Dean of Students at Washington Jr. High School, and most recently served as the interim Assistant Principal at WJHS last school year. 

Thurgood Marshall Learning Center

Charles Driscoll is the new principal at Thurgood Marshall Learning Center. He has 22 years of experience as a school administrator, that experience includes, as intermediate school principal, middle school associate principal, elementary school principal, and alternative school associate principal. For the last 14 years, he was the associate principal at a high school in Iowa.
