Due to construction at the high school, meetings are held in the Washington Junior High School cafeteria (3300 18th Avenue) and start at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of conducting school district business in public. You can contact the board members at [email protected].
The Rock Island-Milan Board of Education consists of seven community members chosen by school district voters on a non-partisan ballot. Board members are volunteers receive no compensation for their service. Meet the Board of Education >>
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Board establishes policy governing local school matters within the framework set by the State Legislature and the State Board of Education
- Ultimately responsible for the budget, personnel matters, facilities and equipment, and policies for the operation of the district
- Serves as a communications link with the community
- Actively seek the opinions and involvement of the public
Leadership Training Completion
Following is the current status of the Board member trainings:
- Michael Matherly - completed all mandatory training on 06/14/19
- Tracy Pugh - completed Open Meetings Act training on 06/09/21
- David Rockwell – completed all mandatory training on 01/14
- Gary Rowe – completed all mandatory training on 07/08/17
- Tiffany Stoner-Harris – completed all mandatory training on 06/19/15
- Terell Williams – completed all mandatory training on 06/16/17
- Megan Wilson - completed all mandatory training on 06/14/19
