Social Media Guidelines

We encourage you to visit and follow our social media accounts!
 
The Rock Island-Milan School District’s social media accounts are used to share information about District activities, events, curriculum, and achievements with the public. It is not an open forum for general speech. Posts that are not for an approved purpose will be removed. If you have any questions or concerns, please call your child’s school to notify the District of those concerns.
 
The District does not tolerate posts that contain language of: harassment, including harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, or political beliefs, among other protected statuses; Bullying, as defined in school and school district policy; Threats or personal attacks others against individual or group; Defamatory, obscene, or pornographic expression; remember that individuals may be sued for defamation for speech that damages the reputation of another; Expression promoting sexual conduct, the use of illegal drugs, or other activity illegal or inappropriate for minor students in the school context;
 
Any other expression that students are prohibited from on school grounds during school hours.
 
We reserve the right to remove any posts that don’t adhere to these guidelines and to block anyone who violates them repeatedly.
