GoGuardian Content Filter

The Rock Island/Milan School District has implemented GoGuardian Suite which provides content filtering for all district student Google accounts and chromebooks. Plus, a Teacher system that allows our teachers to connect, monitor, and engage online with chat, and face-to-face instruction. The filtering service will monitor student accounts when logged on any device whether on the Rock Island campuses or off. GoGuardian strives to keep our students safe and provides monitoring and filtering of student usage, however, no filter will restrict all unwanted content. It is the students' responsibility to follow the guidelines of the Acceptable Use Policy at all times.

The privacy and online safety of our students is very serious which is the contributing factor of teaming up with GoGuardian. GoGuardian is in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). This policy dictates rules for how we handle student data and student privacy. It is important that we partner with organizations that follow this rule, and we feel comfortable that GoGuardian does so completely.

GoGuardian App

The Rock Island/Milan School District has paired up with GoGuardian Parent which is an mobile app that provides parents a view of their student’s internet usage. GoGuardian Parent is a companion to the classroom management and internet filtering tools that your child's school uses for devices and accounts issued to students. Through the use of this app, we hope to encourage more open and honest conversations between parents and children that will result in safer practices and responsible browsing habits. Important Note: No individual outside of the RIMSD staff member conducting the remote lesson, is able to record any virtual session. Parents may not record their child participating in an RIMSD Remote Session.
